Berlin Gets Its Own Startup Factory

SoundCloud has long ago outgrown its headquarters at Rosenthaler Straße. Now it seems like they have finally found the perfect place, not too far from Rosenthaler Platz.

A new 8,500 square-meter office building, one hundred meters away from the Bernauer Straße subway station and the former Berlin wall, will become the new startup hub in Berlin, according to its developers.

On the site of the former Oswald brewery, Berlin-based angel and seed investor JMES Investments has partnered with some private investors to develop the new building which will house SoundCloud and several other existing and new Berlin startups.

“We are creating a campus where startups can learn from each other and use collective knowledge to overcome early stage hurdles,” says Simon Schaefer, partner at JMES to TechCrunch.
