As of today music is “free” in Berlin. Spotify has finally launched in Germany.
The free service has of course it’s limitations. You have to listen to and see ads, and won’t be able to play a song an unlimited number of times. If you pay 4.99 euros a month you’ll get rid of the ads, and will be able to bring your music abroad for an unlimited period. If you opt for the premium plan, which is 9.99 a month, you can listen to music even if you’re offline, and access your tunes on a mobile phone.
Spotify has been a huge success story in its home country of Sweden, and is also popular in the UK and US.
